Good morning from Bali!! I am currently sitting in our little wooden cabin in Canggu where I am having a wee break with my partner and toddler (my Mum just left for the airport after being with us for two weeks). We have been in Bali for two weeks now, and I am happy to finally be able to tell you that new crochet shoes are definitely on the way!
I have spent the last week training four very talented women – one who lives in Denpasar, one who lives in Tabanan and two who live in Singaraja.
Each woman is a mother.
Each has experienced more hardship than I can comprehend.
Each is extremely talented with a crochet hook.
And I appreciate more than anything that they are all excited about joining the Luludu team.
I have chosen this little wooden shack to stay in as today we had our first photoshoot for the shoes. I love every photo this model and photographer team have taken so I’m very excited to see the completed images – especially at this location. (Check out Jungleroom Bali if you ever find yourself in Canggu and love yourself wooden cabins, yummy food and yoga!)
Over the next week I will be updating my website where I will reveal what the new shoes look like, plus I will be telling the story of each team member so once again you can learn more about the connection between the clothes you wear and the people who make them.
When the finished product is in my hands I will be updating my shop – so I'm hoping they can be in your mailbox before Christmas! I am hesitant to release them before they are ready as I know that sometimes things don't go to plan, so when I promise a delivery time I want to be able to deliver. I will be sure to let you know before this happens so you don’t miss out on the first shipment.
As we have just finished training the process is still getting started, so there may be a few weeks before all sizes and colours will be available. But this time I do hope to have a full shop at all times, so eventually there will be no need for pre-orders.
Thank you for your patience and support once again. I have some big dreams for Luludu, the team, and future, so once again I thank you for being on this journey with me!
Until next time!!
