UPDATE // I haven’t had much of an online presence lately, and the reason why is because these shoes are far from being fast and easy to make. Hours and hours of handwork go into crafting each pair, and one different stitch or slightly looser or tighter tension can create a completely different shoe from the last.
On one hand, there is so much beauty in this as each pair is individual and embodies the personality of the creator. However from time to time this does cause a few problems with the end fit.
So during this quiet time, I have been working with the women in Cambodia to ensure a more consistent finish. I have also been working with a local shoe maker who I hope will be gluing the shoes once they are shipped to Australia – also not an easy, straightforward job! This means lots of little trials, tweaks and lots of patience. But we are so, so close to taking new orders again.
