As Luludu is ever-evolving, I'm always trying to find ways to improve my product, range and communication (and about 100 other things!) The recent survey I created was so very helpful to find out what you wanted to see, hear, and learn more of.
I know the price of a product can influence anyone's decision of whether they buy now, later, or not at all, and I know that pricing a product is one of the biggest struggles for most ethical businesses (especially the start-ups!)
This is something I have paid a lot of attention to and have always questioned myself about. I need to be able to continue to pay the makers fairly, pay for materials, shipping, packaging, marketing, 100 other things, plus pay myself a living wage (eventually!) but the product also needs to sell. I know how much the women in Bali need to continue to have these shoes in production so they can continue to support their families, so I have made a decision..
I have reduced the price of the shoes to $125.
This is the lowest price I can afford to take them, and the mark up is well below most other products on the market. But I choose to take this risk in the hope that the lower price will make it easier on the pockets of my customers.
I will be delving once more into the cost of the shoes in the coming weeks so that you can see why they are priced the way they are, and after that I will no longer be justifying the price. I will instead be focusing my time on other parts of the business like creating many more beautiful, ethically made products, and sharing the stories of the makers.
AND to make the deal even sweeter for all my Australian customers (other countries will be coming soon!) you can now receive FREE SHIPPING when you spend over $140. Yippee!
Oh and before I go..
Happy Valentines day!
I hope your love tanks are filled to the brim and that you know how incredibly awesome, special, talented, beautiful and kind you are.
